successfully completed his participation in a specialized international coaching seminar organized by Ajax Amsterdam, as part of our official partnership.

Led by renowned instructors Bart Logchies and Roy Lagendijk, the seminar provided an important opportunity for professional development and the exchange of expertise, offering valuable insights into the philosophy, coaching methods, and modern practices for developing young football players implemented at the Dutch club’s academies.

This participation forms part of Kerkyra United’s strategic plan to continuously enhance football education at youth development levels through international partnerships and the adoption of modern coaching approaches.

The Ajax Philosophy and Methodology

A central element of the educational program was the Ajax philosophy, summarized by the characteristic phrase “We desire to be the best,” reflecting the club’s continuous pursuit of excellence at every level of its operations.

Particular emphasis was placed on implementing a unified football philosophy, from the youngest age groups through to the first team, as well as on the crucial role of appropriately qualified coaches and educators in creating a comprehensive educational environment.

As part of the session titled “The Ajax Football Anatomy,” the fundamental principles of technical development for players aged 8 to 12 were presented, focusing on applying individual skills in real match situations.

One-on-one (1v1) situations hold a prominent place in the Ajax methodology, encouraging young football players to take initiative, develop self-confidence, and cultivate the ability to make independent decisions.

From theory to practice

The educational program combined theoretical training with practical application, including the design and implementation of a training session focused on 1v1 situations and feints (*front moves*), followed by an evaluation conducted by the instructors.

A particularly valuable experience was observing a demonstration training session with Ajax’s U10 team, which highlighted the philosophy of experiential learning.

According to this approach, the young football player is the active protagonist of the educational process. Through clear instructions and targeted questions, coaches encourage children to discover solutions, develop critical thinking, and make decisions through the game itself.

The program also included a visit to the iconic De Toekomst training complex, where participants were introduced to the facilities and the various playing areas used for player development. Of particular interest was the integration of elements of *street football*, which contribute to improving young athletes’ technical skills, creativity, and adaptability.

Investing in the future of football in Corfu

The completion of the international coaching seminar represents another significant step in implementing Kerkyra United’s development strategy, reaffirming the club’s commitment to the continuous professional development of its coaching staff and the ongoing improvement of football education standards.

The knowledge and experience gained, focusing on technical development, experiential learning, player autonomy, and the modern educational role of the coach, are being incorporated into the academy’s daily operations and training programs.

Kerkyra United’s official partnership with Ajax Amsterdam represents a meaningful investment in the future of football in Corfu, creating new opportunities for the development of young football players through the application of international expertise and modern educational practices.

With a consistent focus on educational quality, adherence to a unified coaching philosophy, and the long-term development of its athletes, Kerkyra United continues working towards establishing the foundations of a modern and comprehensive football development environment, providing the children of Corfu with the necessary foundations for their future.

<img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-3107 size-full"
