The first week of Ajax Camps Kerkyra, held from July 6 to July 11, 2026, in Central Corfu, concluded with great success. Dozens of children had the opportunity to enjoy a unique football experience by taking part in a programme based on the philosophy and methodology of the AFC Ajax Academy. This successful opening marks the beginning of another exciting year, passing the baton to the upcoming weeks of the camps.
The return of the renowned Dutch club to Corfu for a second consecutive year reaffirms the strength of its partnership with Kerkyra United. Under the supervision of Xander Baert, Coordinator of AFC Ajax Amsterdam, the programme brings the philosophy and DNA of one of the world’s leading football academies directly to the island. The training process goes beyond teaching football drills, focusing on developing the right football mindset, improving technical ability and helping players understand the demands of high-tempo football through a comprehensive six-day programme.
Training sessions were designed according to the Ajax methodology and divided into short, dynamic segments to ensure that the children’s interest and concentration remained consistently high. At the same time, particular emphasis was placed on building a meaningful relationship between coaches and players, with the fundamental principle that every child is treated as an individual through a personal approach, beginning with every coach knowing each participant by their first name.
The first week of Ajax Camps Kerkyra concluded leaving the best impressions on both children and parents, further confirming the strength of the programme. The journey now continues with the upcoming weeks of the camps, as even more children prepare to experience the Ajax philosophy firsthand and enjoy a truly unique football experience in Corfu.
